The words you will read on our technical sheets and on other people's, explained in one sentence.

A to Z
ADL, acquisition and distribution layer: distribution layer that receives the void and spreads it before the core.
Leak barrier: strip of hydrophobic nonwoven raised along the thighs by an elastic thread.
Fluff cellulose: wood pulp in flakes, defibred in the machine, forming the absorbent mat.
Cloth-like back, TBS: polyethylene film laminated to a nonwoven, soft and quiet; full if it covers the whole width, partial if only the centre.
Frontal tape: strip on the front panel that receives the tabs.
Basis weight: mass of a layer in grams per square metre.
Hot melt: thermofusible adhesive laid hot in fine threads.
Hydrophilic, hydrophobic: lets liquid through, stops it.
Wetness indicator: ink that changes colour when the core is wet.
ISO 11948-1, Rothwell method: maximum absorption capacity test by immersion.
Rewet: liquid that comes back to the surface under pressure after absorption.
ROA, rate of absorbency: speed of absorption of a given volume.
SAP, superabsorbent: polymer grains that hold liquid as a gel.
SMS, spunbond: nonwoven types by manufacturing process.
Top sheet: hydrophilic nonwoven in contact with the skin.
